Teaching

As a post-doc at Santa Cruz, I was twice a project mentor for undergraduates as part of the course "Introduction to Research in Physics and Astrophysics".

As a graduate student at Berkeley, I was a part of the Berkeley Compass Project, a group commited to improving undergraduate physics education and increasing the retention of students from underrepresented populations.

In a Compass course, teachers have the opportunity to design their own curriculum. I have taught several Compass courses.

I also have taught a number of traditional physics and astronomy courses.

I was named an Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor for the 2009-2010 academic year.

I occasionally post some of my teaching materials. I hope others find them useful.
